The Norwich Arts Center presents Phred Mileski on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Donald L. Oat Theater at 8:00pm. At home with a range of musical genres, Mileski enchants with performances ranging from Celtic, jazz, and opera as NAC’s First Friday Live Sounds series continues.
Soprano and multi-faceted musician Phred Mileski has been described as "one of New England's finest song stylists." The astonishing range and engaging stage presence of this award-winning vocalist has earned her critical acclaim and airplay in both the U.S. and in Europe. Her extensive performance experience includes Celtic, folk, classical, opera, jazz, cabaret, and musical theater. She has premiered several works by still-living composers and has recorded several CDs to date. She has also performed with the group Cetlicity, a cutting-edge trio who infuse a contemporary touch to traditional Celtic music.
Phred Mileski will perform with three of the best musicians in or out of this area: Rufus Davis (piano), James Hunter (bass), and John Moore (drums).
First Friday Live Sounds runs from October through June and features a different artist every month. Events are BYOB but you can also enjoy refreshments from the Norwich Arts Center’s concession stand. Tables seat up to eight people, and ticket prices for this event are $20 per person. To purchase tickets, call the Norwich Arts Center / Donald L. Oat Theatre Box Office at 860-887-2789, or tickets can be purchased through their web site at www.norwicharts.org.
