John Balchunas

Was born in 1946 in New Britain, CT. He began his art training at the Norwich Art School at age four. Early in his career he was an active member of the New York Ashcan School of Painting. He later worked one on one with Nicolus Marcicano, and developed a style of painting called “lyrical abstraction.” John graduated Silvermine Collage of Art, Honor's Divison. He did an Independant Study in Florence, Italy. He has explored a type of painting which is a fusion of meditation and jazz motion, and was an active participant of Arte Poveria of Tuscany. His work is held in private collections in Greece and throughout America.
