Artist Statement
Sculpting by way of weaving began for me over a decade ago. I sat down one afternoon at home to experiment with basketry. As I got well into the process I realized I didn’t know how to complete a basket. Continuing anyway on the material I was able to produce an abstract sculptural form. Since then my major work has been to develop this process of building abstract and sculptural forms from a variety of basket beginnings.
