The Norwich Community Cinema Foundation was created as a non-profit organization in order to make quality, independent films available in Eastern Connecticut. We want to make great, lesser known movies available to our community. We will screen movies by regional and other independent filmmakers. We'll show films that won't be seen at the mainstream theaters and seek to cultivate an appreciation for the medium as an expression of creativity. We want to foster both the traditional movie going experience that we love; the big screen and the smell of popcorn, but also host a lively discussion about subject matter related to the films that we show. That's what we are trying to accomplish - not merely a showing, but engaging the audience.
The cinema will screen monthly, on the second Saturday of each month, at the Donald L. Oat Theater. Norwich Community Cinema is an affiliate organization of the Norwich Arts Council.
