The Norwich Arts Center’s First Friday LIVE! SOUNDS rolls on when the ToneShifters take the stage of the intimate Donald L. Oat Theater on April 4th. Formed in 2009, the band’s music spans Americana and Roots Rock genres. Their music is a high-energy mix they call Swinginrockabluesabilly, featuring guitar, accordion, Latin percussion, bass, drums, and four vocalists led by Chris MacKay. It’s anything but typical.

The band released “Sun Set – Live! Raw! Vintage!,” a four song Live EP recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee in 2020.

Late in 2021, Aldora Britain Records in the UK chose two tracks, “Coming Back to You” and “Go Speed,” to add to a digital compilation album of undiscovered independent artists from all over the globe called “Pretty Words on the 24th.” Both tracks garnered back-to-back “Pick of the Week” honors followed by “Coming Back to You” cracking the “Top 20” on the Aldora Britain Records Independent Charts.

In 2023, the release of the Alabama Moon EP was recorded. at the iconic Fame Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Also, there were interviews with the Music of America Podcast and Aldora Britain Records UK online magazine.

Connecticut and New York Blues/Rock Hall of Fame guitarist Tom “The Suit” Forst joined the band in 2024.
